1. Will my insurance cover physical therapy?
Most insurance policies do cover physical therapy. Please contact your health insurance for the details of your physical therapy benefit.

2. Do I need permission from my doctor to come to physical therapy?
You need to have a prescription from your doctor to attend physical therapy.

3. Do I need to let my insurance company know that I am coming for physical therapy?
Some insurance companies require an insurance referral prior to initiating physical therapy. You need to contact your PCP to request a referral.

4. What is the difference between a referral and a prescription?
A referral is an approval from your insurance company that is acquired by your primary care physician. A prescription is a physician’s written order.

5. What will my insurance cover?
All insurance policies differ. Please contact your insurance company for physical therapy benefits.

6. What if I need to cancel my appointment?
We ask that you give 24 hours notice to cancel appointments.

7. What do I need to bring to my first appointment?
You will need to bring your insurance card and your prescription. If your insurance requires a copayment, please be prepared to pay for your visit at each appointment. Please bring any copies of diagnostic reports that you may have.

8. How long will my appointment last?
On average, most appointments are between 30 minutes to one hour.

9. How long will I need to come to physical therapy?
Length of treatment depends on your injury and your compliance to treatment and your home exercise program.

10. What do I need to wear to my appointments?
You are recommended to wear/bring shorts for a leg injury and a tank top for a shoulder or neck injury. It’s best to wear loose fitting exercise clothes and sneakers.
